Louyang my hometown (Series #016)

For the 16th presentation in the series, marking the final one for the semester, a freshman from the Engineering Faculty, Du Jinlong, presented about his hometown, Louyang...


Louyang has a colorful history in that she was one of the old capital cities of China before Beijing came in...

There were 22 participants in today's session, including 8 international students...

About Rugby (Series #015)

For the 15th presentation in the series, Kenji Deshima from the Faculty of Agriculture presented a talk on rubgy...

This topic provides a change from the presentations focusing on one's birthplace...  


He presented in English, and made a very good effort at it...


Kenji provided an interesting comparison between vairous aspects of the rugby game with that of American football...


There were 23 participants today, with 5 being international students...


The moderator was Lei Kun, from the Faculty of Economics...


There were many questions, some of which asked about whether the players traded punches as is commonly seen in soccer and ice hockey games... 


Apparently, within the High School rugby tournaments in Japan, Shikoku high schools are not known to be strong teams...
High schools in Fukuoka, Kanazawa, Osaka are the strong teams in these tournaments...

Angkor Wat in Cambodia (Series #014)

For the 14th talk in the series, we have an international student from Cambodia...

Wan Bunna is an English teacher in Cambodia...


He is here to research on how English is taught to students...


The topic today focuses on Angkor Wat, one of two world heritage sites in Cambodia...
Wan Bunna made a very good try to present in Japanese language, with a little mixture of English...
His effort to do so was very commendable...


There were 26 participants, including 7 international students...


The moderator was Ryusuke Hoshikawa, a sophomore from the Economic Faculty...
